“HandHugga™ is a comfortable and easy to wear glove.
It promotes social inclusion by enabling greater active participation.”
HandHugga™ has been designed to help people that find it difficult to grip and hold onto objects. HandHugga™ closes and supports the hand perfectly, enabling the wearer to hold onto a maraca, drum stick, pen, paintbrush, spoon etc.
HandHugga™ has been designed and developed by The Rhythm Village. The Rhythm Village specialises in bringing music programs to people with special needs. In our day-to-day workshops at schools, we have seen first-hand the struggle some students have when trying to hold a drumstick or to shake a maraca.
HandHugga was therefore borne out of a desire to help those students with hand function disorders. With HandHugga, the focus is redirected from trying to close the hand to hold something, to instead focusing on the task of beating a drum or shaking a maraca.
We have seen HandHugga increase overall quality of life by enabling the wearer to complete everyday tasks, such as brushing teeth, or holding cutlery. We have witnessed children being able to feed themselves which they could not do without HandHugga. We have seen wearers of HandHugga being able hold a paintbrush to express their creativity through painting.
HandHugga can even be used to assist the wearer hold onto sporting equipment such as tennis racquets, table tennis bats, hockey sticks or baseball bats.
HandHugga™ is available in 3 sizes
and in 3 different colour variations.
